Rules update: one battle per turn

Starting from campaign turn 7, each warband will only be able to fight a single battle during each turn. The loser of a battle is unable to execute his intended campaign action and will be 'bounced' to a random adjacent area.
If that area contains another warband, the resulting battle will not be fought immediately but in the next campaign turn.

Personally I would also prefer if the 'random' area that the loser flees to is always empty of other warbands, if at all possible. This reduces the amount of times that a battle 'spills over' into the next campaign turn.
I also think it would be realistic that fleeing warbands seek out an empty area to hide in, rather than running towards a new enemy.

I can understand the pro's, on the other hand I think it's nice that a battle spills over in a turn, that way you never know what you can expect if you enter a battle in a busy area. It can also be seen as realistic that you have no time to find out wheter an area is occupied or not, so you flee random and can stumble upon another warband.

The more mayhem, the merrier

okay so say my action for the next turn is move to the Rock, to execute my action i need to beat the orcs in my spot if i fail i get bounced (which could be the rock), but say i win and the orcs get bounced to the rock. what happens to my move?

That's sorta kinda my problem too. I think you have to specify these things in a general way when submitting your moves: "If I win, I will move so-and-so. My goal is to get there/fight these guys/run away. If I lose and get bumped to here, here or here I will move that way, otherwise I will move around to this area.."

It gets a bit more complicated and a bit less predictable but hey, that's war for ya.

This is how I handle it:
The winner of a battle should be just that; the winner!
So if you intend to move to an area, the loser cannot be bounced to the winner's objective.

I hope this clears things up.

For the rest: what Pep and Has say. ;-)

Since the loser loses his action because of the battle, you dont have to specify, since your action only gets carried when you win. Atleast that is what i understood. i got in this when i encountered someone in move action 1 of 2 and asked if i could continue my move if i won the battle (which i didn`t ofc :P, /hates Rout tests)

So if the orcies wanna move area X, and they win the battle. The sissies get bounced to area`s V,W,Y,Z and lose there action (there`s 5 places around the common neighbourhood). if one of those area`s is there claimed area they go there. they lose their action for that turn.

is that right Reffy?

Good point!
I forgot that if you lose, you automatically go to an area you've claimed that is adjacent. This preceeds the winner's acion.

That makes sense, a losing warband would retreat to their safe haven (claimed area). But if the winning warband had that area as a target for their move, then they still move there, right? Which would mean another battle in the next turn.
Of course, that goes against the rule that you can't fight the same enemy twice in a row, but that is a rule that I consider silly (and unrealistic) anyway.
